Finally Here

We made it to La Guardia at about 9:30 this morning. It was awesome getting to see the city as we flew in! It's hard to believe we're finally here.
We hauled all of our luggage out to the curb and into the Enterprise Rental Car shuttle. And that's where we had our first "New York experience." I've never seen anyone handle a vehicle that way... speeding around turns... practically mowing a couple people over who were barely out of the crosswalk!
Everyone we've interacted with has been so nice. But we've yet to go into the city...
Our first destination was Fishkill. It was about an hour drive north on an absolutely beautiful highway! Gorgeous trees just starting to change colors... stone bridges... loved it.
It's cold but not freezing! And I think we just missed the rain.
Our hotel is clean and quiet. We had dinner at a sushi place called Izumi. The food was good and so was the fried cheesecake for dessert!
A quick trip to Walmart and then back to our room! We got to Face Time with my parents and so we got to see the dogs! I love technology.
Time for sleep since we need to get up about 530 am tomorrow!
Next stop... Walkill Bethel! Our friends Melissa and Robbie, who live there, will be hosting us for lunch after the tour. This was the deciding factor for choosing where to go for our Anniversary vacation; visiting Bethel will really be such a highlight and joy for us both!
More tomorrow.
